We are sorry to announce that due the major changes introduced in Unity for the next version of Ubuntu (12.10 QQ), MyUnity will not be released shortly.

The evolution of Unity and the move from gconf to dconf, forced us to the total rewriting for the programming code related to the setting keys management.
This hasn't been a big deal (on feature freeze, August 23, MyUnity was complete and 95% operating).

Anyway, the Unity post-freeze constant changes and the upheavals for customization keys were and still a problem.

While remaining skepticals for some aesthetic and functional choices, we hope that the new Unity will be pleasant for most users.
For whom like to make changes to the configuration designed by Unity development team, we would like to remember that some other tools are able to do it.

MyUnity Team, pending a Ubuntu 12.10 stable release will evaluate the opportunity to publish the own customization tools on distro post release.

This press has been released in respect to MyUnity loyal users and supporters and others who have written asking the reasons for such delay.

Siamo spiacenti di comunicare che a causa delle notevoli modifiche introdotte in Unity per la futura versione di Ubuntu (12.10 QQ), MyUnity non verrà rilasciato a breve scadenza.

L'evoluzione di Unity e il passaggio da gconf a dconf, ci hanno costretti ad una riscrittura totale del codice per la parte demandata alla gestione del nuovo sistema di settaggio delle chiavi. Questo di per se non si è rivelato un grosso problema (alla data del feature freeze, 23 agosto, MyUnity era completo e funzionante al 95%).

Di contro, le continue modifiche post-freeze apportate a Unity, nonché gli stravolgimenti delle chiavi di personalizzazione, questi sì sono stati e sono tutt'ora un problema.

Pur rimanendo scettici su alcune scelte estetico-funzionali, ci auguriamo che il nuovo Unity possa quantomeno piacere alla maggior parte degli utenti.
Ai desiderosi di apportare modifiche alla configurazione pensata dal team di sviluppo di Unity, ricordiamo che esistono altri tool in grado di farle.

MyUnity Team, in attesa di una Ubuntu 12.10 stabile, valuterà post rilascio l'opportunità di pubblicare il proprio tool di personalizzazione.
